TUESDAY, 2:00-3:00 pm

Prerequisite: None

This class covers the topics necessary to prepare a student for high school mathematics. Specific topics include fractions, decimals, percents, mixed numbers, signed numbers, order of operations, evaluation of algebraic expressions and solutions for linear equations in one unknown. An emphasis on properly reading, setting up and solving word problems also benefits students. The idea of math sense, helping students logically reason through problems, is emphasized.

Weekly practice reinforces the concepts taught in class and the teacher is available during live office hours and by email to assist students. Assignments are graded and students receive a mid-term report as well as a year-end course completion report.
